Participant 1
Initial description: right
Final description: right
Participant 2
Initial description: I though the pattern remains the same but it is 3 spaces farther out
Final description: The black squares are all turned grey and the yellow pattern is repeated 3 spaces farther out
Participant 3
Initial description: Parallel lines are drawn on the empty space next to the Test Input. The black parts are turned gray.
Final description: The black squares are turned gray. There are extra lines drawn parallel to the Test Input and at the same distance as the lines in the Test Input.
Participant 4
Initial description: The rule is to continue expanding the design over to the direction it's going.
Final description: The rule is to continue the expansion of the design across the field. Then fill the black squares into grey.
Participant 5
Initial description: I think the rule to transform the input is to continue the pattern and then fill in the spaces with gray.
Final description: I think the rule to transform the input is to continue the pattern and then fill in the spaces with gray.
Participant 6
Initial description: Recreate the same shape with the same margin as the other shapes. Let the shape go off the page.
Final description: Just recreate the shape again, as has been done with the shapes within the smaller image. Keep the margins of space between the shapes the same. Let the big image go off the page. Then fill in all the black spaces with gray.
Participant 7
Initial description: followed the prompt.
Final description: Followed the prompt
Participant 8
Initial description: black turns grey, continue the pattern outward
Final description: black turns grey, continue the pattern outward
Participant 9
Initial description: fill with grey
Final description: zoom in and fill with grey
Participant 10
Initial description: In this task, all of the black cells turn to grey. All of the cells marked in the original color (in this case, yellow) remain yellow. Then, the pattern progresses outward for as long as there are cells. If the pattern extends outside the boundary, then only the cells within the boundary change to the current color (in this case, yellow).

Participant 11
Initial description: The rule was to make a bigger box, but there is not enough room, so I you only put the side of the box that fits, imagining that it goes off the grid.
Final description: You must think of the square as getting bigger. The small square inside in yellow is where you measure off of. You then see if you move 2 black squares up, down, or left of the small square, you will hit the yellow square again. For this reason, you count 2 black squares to the right of the big yellow square, and add a line of yellow squares from the top of the grid to the bottom. After you do this, then change the remaining black squares into gray squares.
Participant 12
Initial description: Change the black part to grey. Extend the pattern by counting how many rows apart each is. Continue with lines as needed.

Participant 13
Initial description: none
Final description: none
Participant 14
Initial description: Repeat pattern with gaps in between
Final description: Repeat pattern with gaps inbetween just messed it up I guess
Participant 15
Initial description: The rule was to follow the pattern of the original squares.
Final description: Follow the pattern of the original squares and add grey to the black squares afterwards.
Participant 16
Initial description: It just expands two squares outwards I would assume so it just turns into a line because its other walls are bigger than the grid.
Final description: This is the only way this grid should be done it looks most like input three and its all proportional.
Participant 17
Initial description: The pattern was a series of concentric squares, each an even number of blocks away from the smaller one (in this case, 2 squares). Also, the black area was changed to gray in the output.

Participant 18
Initial description: The area that was not originally colored is all painted grey.
Final description: The original shape is extended and the rest of the area is painted grey.
Participant 19
Initial description: I completed the patter of yellow by creating a row two blocks away from the previous row and the all the black needed to be gray.
Final description: I completed the patter of yellow by creating a row two blocks away from the previous row and the all the black needed to be gray.
Participant 20
Initial description: I followed the pattern and extended it until the end of the grid.
Final description: I was extending the pattern like in example output 3 but none were correct.
Participant 21
Initial description: each input has a "pattern" - determine that pattern.
Final description: each input has a "pattern" - determine that pattern... then "continue it", after your done, fill in all black squares with grey.
