Participant 1
Initial description: Create an identical box to the right of the first box with the same orientation.
Final description: Duplicate the shape and start the new shape within one line to the right of the original.
Participant 2
Initial description: Assuming black is "negative space," only one cluster of black squares can be encircled by the box. Translate the box over this cluster of black squares.
Final description: Assuming black is "negative space," only one cluster of black squares can be encircled by the box. Translate the box over this cluster of black squares.
Participant 3
Initial description: In the input there is an area of black squares that is surrounded by a single color. You are suppose to find a matching area with the same number of black squares and surround if with matching color of square.

Participant 4
Initial description: The rule was to apply the same color boundary to the space with the same number of black squares together.
Final description: The rule was to apply the same color boundary to the space with the same number of black squares together.
Participant 5
Initial description: Find an area with the same amount of black squares together that are in the colored edge rectangle. Copy the color of the rectangle to that location of black squares
Final description: Find an area with the same amount of black squares together that are in the colored edge rectangle. Copy the color of the rectangle to that location of black squares
Participant 6
Initial description: Following the same shape however one field over.
Final description: Very difficult to determine the actual pattern that is being used.
Participant 7
Initial description: I made a mistake and clicked submit. Ignore this attempt
Final description: Copy the original size, colors, and shapes into the output. Then, identify the size and shape of the area of black that is inside of the green square. Find a size and shape that is the same as the black identified black area. Finally, use the same color (green) surrounding the identified black shape and place the same color on all squares that the same black square is touching.
Participant 8
Initial description: I had to find the same size square as the one that had a box around it, then make a box around it the same color as the other box, so there would be 2 same color boxes around the 2 same size black squares.
Final description: Make a box around the black squares that are the same grid size as the box that is already made, so 2 matching boxes. That box will all be 1 color and that color will be the same color as the box you can already see. So you should end with 2 identical boxes of the same color.
Participant 9
Initial description: The black squares with a colored border tell you what grouping of black boxes to look for in the grid. It seems to always be at least a 3x2 rectangle of black squares. When you find a rectangle of black squares that matches the one with the colored border, you create the same colored border around this grouping.

Participant 10
Initial description: Find any colored rectangles, then mirror copy and paste them across the middle of the grid
Final description: Copy any colored rectangles, then duplicate it to another part of the grid, while leaving the rest unchanged.
Participant 11
Initial description: I looked for a block of black to go with the first block.
Final description: I looked for sa block of black to make a second bordered box.
Participant 12
Initial description: Find a group of cells diagonally from the selected group with a similar number of black cells. Surround the group with green.
Final description: Find a group of cells diagonally from the selected group with a similar number of black cells. Surround the group with green.
Participant 13
Initial description: outline similar shape with green
Final description: outline similar shape with green
Participant 14
Initial description: Not sure.
Final description: Not sure.
Participant 15
Initial description: The input is copied to output. The black square group with a surrounding unique color is duplicated and mirrored horizontally and vertically.
Final description: The input is copied to output. Then, there is a rectangle of black squares equal to the space inside the unique color outline that doesn't have an outline. An outline of the unique color is drawn around this black rectangle.
Participant 16
Initial description: I can't do this grid. It needs to be 21 wide, but when I choose 21, it gives me a grid of 22. I can't make a grid 21 wide. The numbers even jump in the grid for width from 21 to 23, so for some reason picking 21 makes it 22 wide.
Final description: The grid cannot be sized accurately. The height and width are 21. But when I choose 21 for the width, it gives me 22. The numbers to choose are wrong as well, as it goes from 21 to 23 with no 22 choice, so 21 defaults to 22. There's a glitch in the choices.
Participant 17
Initial description: Add green squares around the pattern that looks like the one that already has green squares around it.
Final description: Add green squares around the pattern that looks like the one that already has green squares around it.
