Participant 1
Initial description: Resize the grid accordingly. Identify the three squares of the same color and add them to the new area. The square of a different color indicates the 45-degree angle to trail the pattern to the far corner.
Final description: Resize the new output area. Identify the single color square. Shade the new cells with the color of that cell, trailing in linear patterns off of the three other shaded cells at a 45-degree angle.
Participant 2
Initial description: Create a complete diagonal red line from each red square continuing to the end of the grid..
Final description: Create a complete diagonal line from each square, continuing to end of grid..
Participant 3
Initial description: I think the square fills in the dominant color and then it heads down to the opposite corner. Although I can't figure out 3 and 4 at all.
Final description: I have no idea why my second attempt wasn't correct and don't know why 3 and 4 have a rule at all. I didn't understand this one if 1 and 2 work, but my second attempt didn't. This was super frustrating.
Participant 4
Initial description: The red squares are the border or the stopping point and the light blue square indicates which direction the red squares are building from.
Final description: I thought the red squares were setting the edge or the border and the light blue/turquoise square was telling me which direction to fill in the rest of the red squares
Participant 5
Initial description: Continue with the color that has the most squares in the input in the direction of the stray color to form a 3 x 3 line. Keep the grid the same size.
Final description: I thought it was to complete in a fashion similar to the inputs and go up or down one space and left or right one space each time.
Participant 6
Initial description: It was to make a big angled line.
Final description: I wasn't sure what other pattern to use. It seemed right.
Participant 7
Initial description: change the cells to same color. Use the odd color cell as the pointer on which direction to extend design to border.
Final description: I changed the colored square and extended the design toward the end of grind in the direction of where the colored square was. I had trouble with which cells should be colored on border.
