Participant 1
Initial description: Repeat the colors that are on the same row as the gray blocks until the grid ends.
Final description: Repeat the colors that are on the same row as the gray blocks until the grid ends.
Participant 2
Initial description: The top part of this pattern stays the same. The lower half of the pattern seems to copy parts of the upper pattern with 2 added squares in the middle
Final description: There are 5 different output patterns shown, so I wasn't sure which pattern this one would follow. I tried using the pattern on Output 3 first, then I tried the pattern on Output 2, before trying the pattern on Output 4. I know that the input shown is repeated.
Participant 3
Initial description: I believe the rule was that the top two rows stayed the same, then the first row was doubled, then the second row was repeated.
Final description: I thought the pattern repeated itself all the way to the bottom, with a doubling of the first row in between
Participant 4
Initial description: Repeat the beginning patten of colors from the start once finished and repeat to the bottom of the grid.
Final description: Copy opening pattern and once it is finished copy on the portion of the patten that started with a grey block for the rest of the grid.
Participant 5
Initial description: The grid stays the same size, the grey boxes on the left measure what you should copy from the original shape, repeating until you fill the grid.
Final description: The grid stays the same size, the grey boxes on the left measure what you should copy from the original shape, repeating until you fill the grid.
Participant 6
Initial description: The gray blocks in the output are in the same place as the gray blocks in the input. The colored blocks in the input are copied over to the same place in the output and the same pattern is started again right under the bottom line of the input.
Final description: Both the gray and colored blocks in the test input are copied directly to the test output with no change. The number of gray blocks, 3 in this case - tells you how may lines of colored blocks starting from the top of the grid - need to be repeated in each sequence until you reach the bottom of the grid.
Participant 7
Initial description: Copy what within the grey blocks and place underneath.
Final description: I did it correctly, it just wouldn't let me press submit unless I had an incorrect response, but the bottom pink section is only supposed to be one pink square, not two.
Participant 8
Initial description: i counted the blocks to calculate where everything should go
Final description: i tried copying the outputs on the right or combining them
Participant 9
Initial description: Create a checkerboard pattern
Final description: good
Participant 10
Initial description: Duplicate the input pattern all the way down.
Final description: Using the number of grey boxes as a guide to what line to stop at duplicate the pattern (example: 3 boxes = duplicate lines 1 2 and 3 all the way to the bottom.
Participant 11
Initial description: Copy the top part of the of input and repeat it under the the input minus the last line of the input until it reaches the bottom of the grid.
Final description: Copy the top part of the of input and repeat it under the the input minus the last line of the input until it reaches the bottom of the grid.
Participant 12
Initial description: Whichever tiles lined up with the grey tiles were repeated below the shape, until reaching the bottom.
Final description: Whichever tiles lined up with the grey tiles were repeated below the shape, until reaching the bottom.
Participant 13
Initial description: Repeat the Input pattern from top to bottom one time then repeat for all rows that have a grey box along left margin. Do not include grey boxed in any repeat
