Participant 1
Initial description: connect in the middle by one less square than the width of the shape
Final description: connecting the squares of the same color
Participant 2
Initial description: Similar colored squares have to be connected together with light blue squares like a circit. The key is that the light blue squares must be down the center of each joining piece, leaving the outside squares black.
Final description: I thought that the similar colored squares needed to be connected like a circit using light blue squares that would go from the center of each similar colored piece.
Participant 3
Initial description: copy the arrangement of colored boxes. Then connect each square once to the closest boxes o the same color. Connect a box that has a more centered alignment first, if there are two choices. Connect horizontally or vertically with light blue, just one square shorted than the smaller of the 2 squares.

Participant 4
Initial description: connect the boxes based on half the length of squares
Final description: connect the boxes based on half the length of squares
Participant 5
Initial description: I have no idea
Final description: I have no idea. How are you even supposed to do this? There is absolutely no clue as to what the rule is...this is dumb and frustrating
Participant 6
Initial description: The light blue boxes should connect the other colored boxes exactly in the middle of each box.
Final description: connect the corresponding colors with blue boxes
Participant 7
Initial description: Connect each pre-existing shape with all other shapes of the same color. The connector should be two less in width than the narrowest of the two shapes being connected. Connect sideways from the widest shape where there are same-color shapes vertically and horizontally. The connectors should be light blue.

Participant 8
Initial description: Connect the like colored shapes together using light blue squares but keeo the connecting light blue squares from touching the outside square of either of the colored shapes being connected.
Final description: I thought the rule was to connect like colors with blue blocks that did not touch the outer edges of the squares that are being connected.
