Initial description: First off the grid was 10x10 with a square of gray in the middle. The 2 "outside" blocks did not change position but their color determined the color inside gray square in a diagonal pattern.

Final description: I am absolutely certain I had it right the first time - I have studied this ad nauseum and there can be no other solution. Is there deception inherent in this study?
