Participant 1
Initial description: Good.
Final description: Good.
Participant 2
Initial description: I copied the yellow pattern onto all 3 sides and flipped it
Final description: I copied the pattern provided and flipped it around on each side
Participant 3
Initial description: the middle input with the x showed where the center is, and the other single input marked where the 4 elements branch off from it

Participant 4
Initial description: I noticed that the outputs in the examples are all flipped and mirrored each other, using the inputs as a guide from where the starting point should be, so I tried to copy the same thing with the output.
Final description: I have no idea what the rule is to solve this task. I thought that it was supposed to be a mirror imagine but I tried to make it a mirror image and got it wrong all three times. I adjusted the grid, counted, and still could not figure it out. I have no idea what part I made a mistake in and kept messing up and getting more and more frustrated.
Participant 5
Initial description: Copy the design around the center square block to each quadrant and make sure they are properly flipped like a mirror image. The final output should be symmetrical.

Participant 6
Initial description: The rule was to mirror the yellow parts of the flower all the way around it.

Participant 7
Initial description: The illustration
Final description: too difficult
Participant 8
Initial description: Five cells near the center of the test input are arranged like the number five on a die ( two on top row, one in center row and two on third row). These five represent the center of the output. Other color squares are mirrored (left and right, then top and bottom) so that the other color squares have four copies total in the test output.

Participant 9
Initial description: I looked at each dot and replicated it in each corner.
