Final description: I used the pattern in the corner as a template for the red dots and then deleted the template by making it the same colors as the background.

Initial description: I tried making the grid the same size and then put the colors in the same area. Once the background and large blue shapes were in, I looked at the examples to see how they changed over time. I tried to make the shapes change in the same way.
Final description: This one confused me a bit. I tried following the rules and even adjusted after the first two tries. I didn't know what the final rule was that I was missing.
